Lori Levine

SVP of Family Engagement at Acelero Learning

Lori leads the development and execution of Acelero Learning and Shine Early Learning’s family engagement vision. As a professional who has committed her career to undoing the institutional racism in public systems that has kept communities of color from achieving equity in American life, Lori brings a co-creative and inclusive approach to Acelero’s family engagement work. With extensive cross-sector background in public health, education, family support and organizational and systems change, she understands that true collaboration with families must fundamentally change the power dynamics between institutions and communities of color to secure the health and well being of their children and families. These were lessons learned while working in leadership roles in NYC child welfare, child and adolescent health clinics and K-12 education and staff development systems. Lori also served for ten years as deputy director of Columbia University School of Public Health’s National Program Office for Free to Grow: Head Start Partnerships to Promote Substance-free Communities. In this capacity, she worked with diverse Head Start communities in more than 20 states, supporting them to utilize research-based family and community engagement strategies to strengthen the overall environments of Head Start children. Lori lives in NYC with her wife and considers herself blessed to be able to be in the same city as her 3 children, their spouses and four grandchildren.
