Michael serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Acesis.
For the 11 years prior to joining Acesis, Michael served as the CIO of Harvard University Health Services (HUHS) where he helped in the early development and adoption of the health services electronic medical record. This system that was developed at Harvard is now in use in over 200 universities throughout the US. Before he left Harvard, the health services achieved stage 1 meaningful use and NCQA accreditation as a stage 3 medical home.
Michael is an instructor at the Harvard School of Public Health where he has taught courses in healthcare management and the use of information technology in healthcare.
Michael graduated with B.S. in Natural Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University. He has a M.S. (Cell Biology) and an M.D. degree from New York University. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, and performed a two year research fellowship at the Scripps Research Institute. He also completed the Masters in Health Care Management program at the Harvard School of Public Health.
