Jean-Nicolas Bonnafous has worked in a variety of roles since 2003. Jean-Nicolas began their career at Constellation Network, where they worked as a Project Manager and ISD/CTO, managing the development teams for e-tourism projects in France and abroad. Jean-Nicolas then moved to Créalink in 2008, where they worked as a Webmaster and Webdesigner. In 2013, they became the owner of Agence Digitale Beemeo, specializing in digital products and projects for national and international companies. In 2016, they worked as a Directeur Artistique and UX/UI Designer at Agence'O. Jean-Nicolas then moved to Guiz Digital in 2019, where they served as the Lead UX & Design Thinking, heading the UX and Design Thinking department for the Maltem Consulting Group. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Head of Design at Acheel.

Jean-Nicolas Bonnafous attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned a degree in Human-Computer Interaction for User Experience Design. In 2019, they attended Harvard Business School Online and earned a degree in Business Analytics, focusing on Business Strategy. Jean-Nicolas also attended MIT Sloan School of Management in 2018-2019, earning a Mastering Design Thinking degree in Strategy and Innovation, as well as a Digital Business Strategy degree in Strategy and Innovation.
