Justin Ryder has over 10 years of work experience in various design and communication roles. Justin is currently working as a UX Designer at Achievers since January 2022. Prior to that, they were a Product Designer at CrowdRiff from June 2019 to December 2021. From November 2017 to May 2019, Justin worked as a UX Designer at Therefore Interactive, where they collaborated with internal and client stakeholders on web application design and development. Justin also conducted user and stakeholder research and created design assets such as wireframes and mockups.
Before joining Therefore Interactive, Justin served as a Graphics and Membership Communications Coordinator at the Canadian Federation of Students–Ontario. During their tenure from May 2015 to October 2017, they designed a resource sharing web application, led website redesign projects, and created brand style guides for organizational and campaign purposes.
Justin also has freelance experience as a Web and Graphic Designer from 2012 to 2017. Justin additionally worked as a Communications Assistant at Borderless Higher Education for Refugees from September 2014 to January 2015 and as a Graphic Designer at the Canadian Federation of Students–Newfoundland and Labrador in 2012.
Early in their career, Justin held roles such as Executive Director of Finance and Services at the Memorial University of Newfoundland Students' Union from May 2011 to April 2012. Justin managed finances and services for the union's members, including overseeing a staff of 11 employees. Justin also worked as a Communications Assistant at the United Way organizations of Newfoundland and Labrador from April 2011 to September 2011, and of Greater Moncton and Southeastern New Brunswick from June 2008 to April 2011, where they assisted with online communications and strategy development.
Throughout their career, Justin has gained expertise in UX design, product design, graphic design, and communications. Justin'sexperience spans across both in-house and freelance work, demonstrating their versatility and adaptability in different environments.
Justin Ryder has a diverse education history that includes a Master's degree in Social Anthropology from York University (2013-2015), a Bachelor's degree in Social Anthropology (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2008-2013), and a Certificate in User Experience Design from George Brown College (2016-2017). In addition, they obtained a certification in User Experience Design from George Brown College in May 2017.
