Monica Sassi

Monica Sassi is an experienced professional in the field of quality control and immunology. Currently serving as Head of QC at Achilles Therapeutics plc since October 2019, Monica has also held roles as QC Team Leader and Principal Scientist. Prior experience includes a position as Lead Scientist (Study Director) at Lonza, focusing on the design of cell-based methods. At Abcam, Monica worked as a Senior Scientist, conducting analysis of T cell co-signalling and leading assay design and execution. Monica's previous research includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, where the focus was on the innate immune response to Pneumocystis and its epidemiology in transplant recipients. Educationally, Monica holds a specialist degree in Microbiology and Virology from the University of Vita-Salute San Raffaele and a Master's Degree in Biology from the University of Parma.
