Gregor Smeets

Gregor Smeets is an experienced finance and risk management professional with a robust background in the insurance and investment sectors. Since November 2008, Gregor has held various leadership roles at Achmea, including Director of Group Balance Sheet Management, Director of the Group Investment Office/CIO, and Directeur Enterprise Risk Management, among others. Prior to this, Gregor served as Managing Director for Central Europe at ING Investment Management and held positions in financial risk monitoring at The Prudential Assurance Co. Ltd., finance management at Thames Valley Police, and various roles at ING from 1994 to 2003. Gregor's educational qualifications include a Financial Risk Management degree from GARP and a Master's in Econometrics from the University of Amsterdam.
