Umesh Hiriyannaiah

Umesh Hiriyannaiah has over 35 years of experience in the software industry. Umesh began their career in 1983 at Kirloskar Computer Services, where they held positions such as Senior Systems Analyst and Senior Manager before becoming General Manager. During their time there, they built the Systems Software practice and jump-started the software export business, as well as training, developing, and building a team of over 150 software professionals.

In 1993, Umesh moved to Infogain, where they held positions such as Senior Manager, Business Unit Manager, and Director of the Systems Group. During their time there, they built the IT infrastructure of the company, taking it from a 25 to 250 person team, and was responsible for hands-on project and program management of Systems Software related projects. Umesh also built and developed a team of over 70 software developers and engineers specializing in migration, re-engineering, and porting across Unix and Microsoft Windows environments.

Finally, in 1998, Umesh co-founded ACIONYX, Inc., where they served as Founder and CTO. ACIONYX does custom software and systems development projects and consulting services, with customers including Apple, Inc.

Umesh Hiriyannaiah obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics from the University Visvesvariah College of Engineering, Bangalore University, Bangalore, India. Umesh then went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, USA, which they completed in 1982. Umesh also attended AT & T Corporate Training and Education for Unix System V Internals and Device Drivers. Umesh holds certifications from Microsoft as a Microsoft Windows NT Trainer, as well as from the FAA as a Private Pilot - Instrument rated and a Remote Pilot - SUAV.
