Salah Bustami

Salah Bustami is an experienced mental health professional currently serving as a Teaching Fellow at the Ackerman Institute for the Family since October 2022, where responsibilities include assisting in the facilitation of the Foundations of Family Therapy Course. As the Director of Family Services and Staff Therapist at the Freedom Institute since April 2019, Salah oversees family services while also providing individual and group therapy. Previous experience includes staff therapist roles at Bridge Back to Life Center, Inc., where Salah facilitated group sessions and coordinated client care, and worked at Unique People Services as a MICA Counselor, providing case management and support for Dual-Diagnosis clients. Salah's early career involved internships at Teachers College, Columbia University, and the Realization Center, along with research coordination at the University of British Columbia, culminating in advanced degrees in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
