Matthew Jackman is a PhD student at the University of Sydney in the Centre for Disability Policy and Research, specializing in Mad Studies. Currently serving as a lecturer and researcher in social work at the Institute of Health & Management and previously a sessional lecturer at Charles Darwin University, Matthew has extensive experience in social work and mental health. Key roles include consultancy for the World Health Organization on a research project addressing power, oppression, and mental health, as well as being an accredited social worker involved with the Australian Association of Social Workers. Matthew is also the founder of The Australian Centre for Lived Experience and has held various academic and advisory positions, including senior social work roles and membership in mental health advisory panels, demonstrating a strong commitment to advocating for service user and family carer perspectives.
