ACLU of North Carolina
Jaclyn Maffetore is a Senior Staff Attorney at the ACLU of North Carolina, having served in this role since December 2019. Previously, Maffetore held positions as a Staff Attorney and Legal Fellow at the Southern Coalition for Social Justice from December 2016 to December 2019, and worked as a Temporary Election Protection Specialist at Democracy North Carolina for a brief period in 2016. Maffetore also gained experience as a Legal Extern in Residence and a Civil Litigation Summer Associate at Rossabi Black Slaughter, PA, where responsibilities included litigation support and legal document preparation. Academic background includes a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Elon University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science from Wake Forest University. Maffetore's work has focused on voting rights, criminal justice, and community engagement through non-traditional lawyering.
