Cody Venzke

Senior Policy Counsel, Surveillance, Privacy, Technology at ACLU

Cody Venzke currently serves as Senior Policy Counsel for Surveillance, Privacy, and Technology at the ACLU, a position held since March 2023. Prior experience includes Senior Counsel at the Center for Democracy & Technology from May 2020 to March 2023 and serving as an Honors Attorney/Attorney Adviser at the Federal Communications Commission from September 2019 to May 2020. Cody's legal journey also comprises roles as a Judicial Law Clerk in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, as well as Associate at Paul Hastings. Earlier career experience includes serving as a Corps Member with Teach For America from June 2010 to June 2012. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor degree from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor's Degree in Religion from St. Olaf College, with additional education completed at The American University in Cairo.
