Megan Byrne

Capital Punishment Project Senior Staff Attorney

Megan Byrne serves as the Senior Staff Attorney for the Capital Punishment Project at the ACLU since September 2023, focusing on defending against the death penalty and addressing racial inequality within criminal and capital contexts. Prior to this role, Megan held various positions at the Center for Appellate Litigation from June 2016 to August 2023, including Supervising Attorney and Director of the Racial Justice Project. Earlier experience includes serving as a Litigation Associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 2014 to 2016 and completing summer associate roles at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and the New York Center for Juvenile Justice in 2012. Megan Byrne obtained a law degree from Stanford Law School in 2014.
