Katherine Schultheis

Head Discovery Research at ACM Biosciences AG

Katherine Schultheis has over a decade of research experience that includes positions at INOVIO Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Charit\u00e9, German Rheumatism Research Center Berlin, and the University of Potsdam. Katherine'smost recent role is as Head of Discovery Research at ACM Biosciences AG, beginning in 2022. At INOVIO, they held several positions, culminating as R&D Manager from 2019-2021, where they supervised the research team and established and managed a core facility providing imaging support across the R&D department. Schultheis has also performed a variety of immunology assays including ELISA, ELISpot, and Flow Cytometry and led the development and optimization of new immunoassays for use in preclinical models. At Charit\u00e9, they served as a research assistant and PhD student from 2011-2013. Schultheis began their research career as a student assistant at the German Rheumatism Research Center Berlin in 2008 and continued as a student assistant at the University of Potsdam later that year.

Katherine Schultheis earned their Abitur (High-School-Diploma) from Johann-Wolfgang-von-Goethe-Gymnasium in Pritzwalk, Germany, in 2004. Katherine further pursued their education and earned a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Potsdam, finishing in 2010. From 2011 onward, Katherine Schultheis enrolled in the Integrated Research Training Program of the Collaborative Research Center 633. Additionally, in 2011, they obtained FELASA Category B certification from the Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations, and in March 2022, they obtained GxP-Intensivtraining certification from Pharmaakademie.
