Patricia Hughes has a strong background in technology and IT project management. Patricia started their career at Direct Marketing Technologies Ltd. as a Project/Technical Lead from 1995 to 2000. Patricia then joined Vulcan Solutions as a Senior Practice/Program Manager from 2000 to 2012. After that, they worked at Capita Life & Pensions Services as a Senior Program/Project Manager from 2012 to 2013. Patricia then moved to Hewlett Packard as a Senior Global Program/Project Manager - ES IT Business Intelligence (contract) from 2013 to 2014. Patricia continued their career at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Global IT Solution Lead - ES IT Business Intelligence from 2014 to 2015 and later as a Global IT Program Manager from 2015 to 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they served as the Head of IT Systems & Operations at Acorn Insurance. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Systems Engineering and Delivery at Acorn Life since 2019 and also serves as the Head of Technology since 2021.

Patricia Hughes holds an MSc in Technology Management from the University of Galway. Patricia pursued a part-time course in Computer Applications from Dublin City University. Additionally, they obtained an NCEA in Computing from Dundalk Institute of Technology. Patricia also holds various certifications including Coaching for Business Results from the Irish Management Institute, Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) from Scrum Alliance, Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) from Scrum Alliance, Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Scrum Alliance, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute. Patricia is also an ISEB-ISTQB Certified Tester.
