Aftab Rashid has worked in a variety of roles in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries since 1998. Aftab began their career as a Visiting Scientist at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center, where they worked on the pathobiology of Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Aftab then moved to Cellular Genomics Inc. as a Staff Scientist, where they worked on the company's "Analogue Sensitive Kinase Allele (ASKA)" platform technology. Aftab then moved to Harvard Medical School as a Research Fellow, where they worked on epitope mapping and ELISA assay development of an autoimmune blistering disease of mouth. After Harvard, they joined Altus Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Staff Scientist, where they worked on the company's "Cross-Linked Enzyme Crystals (CLEC)" platform technology. Aftab then moved to Alnara Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Senior Staff Scientist, where they worked on designing and developing non-systemic orally-delivered protein therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases. Aftab then moved to Virdante Pharmaceuticals Inc. as a Research Scientist, where they worked on the company's "Sialic Acid Switch" platform technology. Aftab then moved to Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Bio-Analytical Scientist, where they worked on RNA interference. Aftab then moved to Sanofi as an External Manufacturing Lead, where they established strategic partnerships with contract packaging organizations in Europe and USA and led manufacturing and supply of complex pharmaceutical products in 6 global markets. Aftab also led the launch of pharmaceutical products in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. Finally, they joined ACROBiosystems as an Investment Director in 2022.

Aftab Rashid's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from A. M. University, Aligarh, India between 1984 and 1986. Aftab then went on to receive a Master of Science (MSc) in Parasitology from the same university between 1987 and 1989. In 1991, they completed their Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Parasitology from A. M. University, Aligarh, India. Aftab then went on to receive a PhD in Biology from A. M. University, Aligarh, India between 1991 and 1994. Finally, Aftab Rashid completed their MBA in Finance from Northeastern University-Graduate School of Business Administration, Boston, MA, USA between 2008 and 2011.
