Sowjanya Kanuri currently serves as Lead at ACT Grants since September 2022. Prior experience includes positions at Unilever from May 2015 to November 2018, where titles included Trade Category Manager, Area Sales and Customer Manager, and Management Trainee. An initial stint as a Summer Analyst at Deutsche Bank in 2014 focused on identifying structured finance opportunities in the Indian and Korean markets. Sowjanya Kanuri's academic background includes a PGP from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and ongoing studies in Business Administration and Management through an exchange program at the University of Mannheim. Sowjanya earned a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka.

ACT is a non-profit venture philanthropy platform that was born in 2020 in response to the COVID crisis and is built upon the premise that collective action has the power to achieve social impact at scale. We’re driven by the desire to catalyse social change through action and collaboration across the board – start-up founders, donors, NGO’s, expert advisors, government stakeholders as well as the public at large. Our grants are given as seed capital to incubate and accelerate innovations that have demonstrated ability to address identified social need gaps at scale.
