Cara Bonnett

Cara Bonnett, MS, CISSP, currently serves as the Senior Manager of Data Privacy and Risk at ACT, where responsibilities include implementing and leading the data privacy program while collaborating with business units to minimize data privacy and information security risks. Previously, Cara held several roles at Duke University from June 2008 to April 2023, including Technology Risk Assurance Manager, where Cara developed IT risk management strategies and conducted the institution's first enterprise-wide controls assessment. Other notable positions include Senior Security Analyst and Team Lead, overseeing business engagement and security education, and Information Security Analyst, expanding security awareness initiatives. Cara holds a Master of Science in Information Science and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
