Matthias Pfenninger

Matthias Pfenninger has over a decade of work experience. Matthias started their career as a Teacher at Studienzentrum Fricktal from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, they joined Swisscom as an ICT Change Manager and Software Engineer, and later transitioned to the role of IT Service Owner and Software Engineer, holding this position from 2015 to 2018.

Following their work at Swisscom, Matthias joined SCIGILITY in 2018 as a Big Data Software Engineer. Throughout their tenure, they progressed to the roles of Professional Big Data Software Engineer, Senior Big Data Software Engineer, and ultimately became the Lead Big Data Software Engineer. During this time, they focused on big data, DevOps, and data science. Matthias was responsible for leading a cross-functional team of platform and software engineers and data scientists. Matthias also obtained certifications as a Spark Developer, Databricks Solution Architect Champion, and Azure Data Scientist.

Most recently, Matthias has worked at ACTICO as a Senior Solutions Architect from June 2023.

Matthias Pfenninger completed their Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Computer Science / Data Science at ETH Zürich from 2017 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computational Sciences, Major in Computational Physics from the University of Basel between 2009 and 2012. Matthias also completed their Matura in Physics & Applied Mathematics at Gymnasium Münchenstein from 2005 to 2008.
