Gemma Bruley

Gemma Bruley has extensive work experience in the field of international development and humanitarian work. Their most recent role was as the Head of Business Development for the Humanitarian Policy and Practice Team at ActionAid UK, starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they held various positions at ActionAid UK, including Senior Specialist in Business Development for the Humanitarian team. Gemma also worked at International Medical Corps UK as a Programme Manager and Programme Coordinator, and at GOAL Ireland as a Programme Support Officer. Gemma has experience in project support and administration, including roles at Malaria Consortium and BERUDEP. Gemma also has media experience, having worked in various positions from Production Assistant to Production Coordinator at companies such as West Digital, NTL, QVC, and Reef Television.

Gemma Bruley attended St Mary's University, Twickenham from 2000 to 2003, where they obtained a BA (Hons) degree in Media and Drama. Gemma then pursued further education at Birkbeck, University of London from 2007 to 2009, earning a Diploma in Development Studies. From 2010 to 2012, they attended the University of Birmingham and obtained an MSc degree in Poverty Reduction and Development Management.
