Marie Törngren

Marie Törngren has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Marie is currently the VP Non-clinical R&D at Active Biotech AB, a position they have held since 2022. Marie has also held various roles at Active Biotech AB in the past, including Director of Preclinical Development and Head of Pharmacology, where they managed a team of scientists and technicians performing in vivo studies for PK evaluation, disease models, and dose finding studies.

Prior to working at Active Biotech AB, Marie was a Scientist, Group Leader at Lund University's Wallenberg Retina Center from 2000 to 2001. Marie also worked as a Research Scientist at AstraZeneca from 1998 to 2000, where they led in vivo studies in inflammation models.

Marie Törngren has an extensive education history in the field of science and zoology. Marie began their educational journey at Tekniska skolan in Hässleholm from 1981 to 1983, where they completed a science program over the course of three years. Afterward, they attended Lund University from 1986 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry. Marie continued their studies at Lund University and completed their PhD in Zoology with a specialization in functional morphology in 1998.
