Malena de la Ossa Picado has a diverse range of work experience in different industries and roles. In their most recent position at Active Digital, they worked as a Customer Success Consultant starting in 2023. Prior to that, they were employed at Accenture from 2021 to 2023, where they held two roles. As a Program & Project Management Senior Analyst, they successfully managed multiple multimillion-dollar projects, ensuring alignment between project scope, timelines, and client expectations. Additionally, they served as a Front End Development Analyst, leading monthly marketing campaigns and managing developers.
Before joining Accenture, Malena worked at CreativeDrive as an MID - Email Developer from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they were responsible for developing responsive HTML and CSS code, training new developers, and creating onboarding documentation.
In 2020, Malena was employed at Nosotras Women Connecting as a Project Assistant, contributing to active research and coordination tasks. Malena also worked as an Intern at the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in 2018, playing a role in case registration and providing support to the department head.
During their internship at the National Institute for Women (INAMU) in 2017, Malena conducted political research analysis on women's human rights in Costa Rica. Malena also worked as a Research Assistant at Universidad de Costa Rica that same year, contributing to a scientific article on political rights and violence against women in politics.
Malena's earliest work experience was as a Project Assistant-Email Developer at the Freedom of Expression, Right to Information and Public Opinion Program from 2015 to 2016, where they managed social media, developed email newsletters, and maintained the official website.

Malena completed a Certificate Program in Project Management from Cornell University, with an end year in 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a degree in web development from Universidad Creativa, starting in 2020 and completing it in 2021. Malena also obtained a degree in Graphic Design from Cyber U, from 2019 to 2020.
Before their specialization in project management and web development, Malena pursued a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR). Malena completed their studies from 2013 to 2017. Later, they pursued a Licenciatura, an equivalent of a master's degree, in Political Science from the same university, from 2017 to 2019.
In addition to their formal education, Malena has also obtained several certifications. Malena obtained the Unified Security: Playbook Approach to Security certification from Skillsoft in April 2023. In January 2023, they obtained the Scrum Master certification from Universidad Cenfotec and the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from CertiProf. Malena also acquired the Scrum Master Professional Certificate - SMPC® from CertiProf in the same month.
In 2022, Malena received the Giving and Receiving Feedback certification from the Project Management Institute and the Scrum Foundation Professional certification from CertiProf. In 2021, they obtained the Certificación Técnica en Desarrollo Web Front End con REACT from Universidad Creativa.
Furthermore, Malena has additional certifications, such as Introduction to Feminist Theories from Universidad de Chile in November 2019 and Rights-Based and Gender Equality Approach in Policies, Programs, and Projects from the Organization of American States (OAS) in June 2019. Malena has also received certifications from Google Analytics Academy, including Basic Concepts of Google Tag Manager in April 2021 and Google Analytics for Beginners in July 2020.
