Jon Fox-Rubin

CFO & Corporate Strategy at ActivePrime

Jon Fox-Rubin has a long and varied work experience. Jon began their career in 1985 as an Automotive Technician at AutoTech. In 1990, they moved to Dornier GmbH as an Engineer. In 1996, they joined the Rocky Mountain Institute as a Senior Researcher, where they identified opportunities to dramatically increase the efficiency of the automobile. In 1998, they co-founded Hypercar Inc and served as Chief Operating Officer. In 2003, they co-founded Fiberforge Corporation and served as both Executive Vice President and President & CEO. In 2014, they became the Executive Director of MANAUS, where they managed a great organization that uses community organizing and user-centered design to understand and achieve social justice in our communities. In 2017, they joined Valley Settlement as Executive Director, where they employed a whole-family approach focused on school readiness, elementary school achievement, economic stability and community engagement. In 2021, they joined ActivePrime as CFO & Corporate Strategy.

Jon Fox-Rubin obtained their ASE Certified Automotive Technician from Wyoming Technical Institute in 1984. Jon then attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 1985 to 1989, obtaining a BSME in Mechanical Engineering. Jon continued their studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1992, followed by a PhD in the same field in 1996.
