Tom Flaherty

Tom Flaherty has extensive experience in finance and leadership roles, with a focus on venture capital and private equity backed software/SaaS and technology companies. Tom has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at multiple organizations, including ActiveWorx, where they played a key role in a successful funding round and buyout, and Interim CFO Consulting, where they provided strategic, financial, and operational leadership to software and technology companies. Tom also served as CFO at AetherPal, overseeing a high-value sale of the company, and at Wayside Technology Group, a publicly traded software distributor and reseller. Prior to these roles, they held positions such as Vice President of Finance at StemCyte Cord Blood Bank and Corporate Controller at VPIsystems. Tom Flaherty has a strong background in financial management, M&A transactions, and business operations, and has successfully led teams in the USA, Canada, and internationally. Tom began their career at Ernst and Young, where they gained experience in audit and financial analysis.

Tom Flaherty obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Montclair State University, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Tom also holds additional certifications, including Strategic Thinking from LinkedIn and the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the State of New Jersey, which they obtained in 1992.
