Hannes joined Acton in 2015 as Venture Partner for North America. As an active Business Angel, former entrepreneur and member of several boards in a series of successful internet companies, he contributes more than two decades of experience to support Acton’s up-and-comers across the Atlantic. He spent the early years of his career in Strategy Consulting with BCG before he co-founded JustBooks and headed AbeBooks on its way to global market leadership and the later exit to Amazon, Inc.
Hannes has won various industry awards, including EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year in the Pacific Region. He holds a Masters degree in Business and Engineering from University Karlsruhe and a PhD from Otto Beisheim School of Management (WHU). It’s been said, that the family man, wanna-be skier, Canadian-of-choice and former tennis pro is a real asset to any Après-Ski-Party.
