Bryan Miller

Bryan Miller is an experienced actuary with a diverse background in the insurance industry. Bryan began their career at The Prudential Insurance Company of America where they served as an Actuarial Assistant and later an Actuarial Associate. In 1990, they joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City as a Director of Actuarial Services and later held roles as Assistant Vice President, Vice President, and Chief Actuary. During their tenure at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Bryan led the actuarial functions for a company with over $2.1 billion in revenue. Bryan provided consultation and modeling for the short and long-term impacts of the Affordable Care Act, guided product development and strategy efforts across various segments, and directed claim reserving functions. In 2016, Bryan retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and joined Actuarial Resources Corporation as a Consulting Actuary. Bryan specializes in health insurance-related projects, particularly focusing on ACA compliance and strategy, rate filing review, and reserve analysis. Bryan has also worked as an expert witness and is looking to expand that experience.

Bryan Miller completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Actuarial Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1979 to 1983. Prior to their university education, they obtained a high school diploma from Alton Senior High School in Alton, Illinois, from 1976 to 1979.

In terms of certifications, Bryan Miller achieved Associate status with the Society of Actuaries in November 1985. Bryan became a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries in November 1987 and subsequently obtained their Fellowship with the Society of Actuaries in November 1989. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Leadership/Management Track of Certified Business Intelligence Professional from the Institute for the Certification of Computing Professionals in July 2011.
