Kate Montgomery has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and organizations. Kate has held positions at Acumen, starting as a Strategic Partnerships Advisor in 2016, before progressing to Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and eventually becoming the Director of Business Development for Government Partnerships. In these roles, they have led fundraising efforts for several funds, developed partnerships with government agencies, and implemented programs focused on gender equality, youth employment, and agriculture. Kate has also been involved with other organizations such as the Refugee Investment Network, where they served as an Advisory Board Member, and The Global Development Incubator, where they were a Secretary to the Board of Directors. Prior to their time at Acumen, Kate worked at d.light design as the Director of Global Partnerships and at the Feinstein International Center as an Assistant Researcher. Kate also has experience with the International Rescue Committee, where they held multiple positions including Economic Recovery and Development Coordinator and Program Development Coordinator. Overall, Kate has a strong background in business development, strategic partnerships, and program management within the international development and social impact sectors.
Kate Montgomery has a BA in Political Science from Colgate University, which they earned from 1999 to 2003. Kate later pursued an MS in Conflict Studies at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2006 to 2007. In 2022, they completed an Executive Education program in Social Finance at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
