Monica Oviedo

Monica Oviedo is currently an Acumen Fellow since March 2023, participating in a leadership development program that focuses on social change and combating social injustice. With extensive experience at Iberdrola since June 1999, Monica holds the title of Responsable de Desarrollo Sostenible y Agenda 2030, overseeing the implementation of the Agenda 2030 and addressing sustainability concerns from stakeholders. Monica's previous roles at Iberdrola include managing environmental relations and climate change initiatives, where significant contributions included presenting electrification goals at the UN General Assembly and participating in major COP climate conferences. Additional roles included leadership in risk management and financial control. Prior experiences include a sustainability role at Avangrid, project management at COELBA, and a position at the Basque Agency for Development Cooperation, where Monica focused on project management control in Buenos Aires. Monica holds a degree from the University of Deusto, completed in June 1995.
