Muhammad Aijaz Umer has extensive work experience in the power generation industry. Muhammad Aijaz has worked for ACWA Power since 2008, where they held various roles including Executive Vice President Engineering and Executive Vice President. Prior to joining ACWA Power, they worked as an Executive Director at ACWA Power International. Muhammad Aijaz also has experience as a Chief Power Engineer at ACWA Power International KSA. Before that, they worked as a Senior Operations Manager at Hub Power Company and as an Operation Manager at Ghazlan Power Plant SEC. Muhammad Aijaz began their career as an Operation Engineer at Karachi Electric Supply Corporation. Throughout their career, Muhammad Aijaz Umer has acquired specialized training in large boilers and turbines.

Muhammad Aijaz Umer attended NED University of Engineering and Technology from 1973 to 1979, where they earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. Their studies focused on various subjects including Thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and strength of materials.
