Umar Farooq

Umar Farooq is a seasoned professional in the field of quality control and welding engineering, currently serving as the Quality Control Manager at ACWA Power since October 2025. Previously, Umar held the position of Quality Section Head at ENERGYA Steel Solutions from August 2021 to November 2025 and worked as a QA/QC Manager at Al Zamil Metal Works Factory from January 2019 to January 2023. Earlier experience includes roles as a Welding Engineer at both Al Zamil Metal Works Factory and Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC), where responsibilities encompassed preparing welding procedures and qualifying welders. Umar also served as a Welding Supervisor at CERN, contributing to the welding of M-lines for the Large Hadron Collider. The career trajectory began with a Management Trainee role at Attock Refinery Limited, focusing on oil refinery processes and equipment. Umar holds an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology, obtained between 2007 and 2011.
