Wesley Wells has a diverse work experience in the field of education. Wesley started their career as a Social Studies Teacher at Joshua Middle School in 1991, teaching various subjects including World History, U.S. History, Spanish, and Problem Solving. Wesley then became the Department Chair for Social Studies at California City Middle School, where they played a role in selecting curricular materials for a new middle school. After that, they worked as a Social Studies Teacher at Centennial High School, teaching courses in World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics.

In 2000, Wesley became the Dean of Students at South High School, overseeing campus supervision, disciplinary proceedings, and teacher evaluations. Wesley then moved on to Highland High School, serving as the Assistant Principal for Instruction and Assistant Principal of Administration. In these roles, they were responsible for creating the master schedule, articulating courses of study with universities, completing accountability reports, and serving on various school and district committees.

From 2008 to 2015, Wesley served as the Department Chair for Social Studies at Golden Valley High School. In addition to coordinating teaching assignments and curriculum discussions, they taught courses in World History, U.S. History, Economics, Government, and AP U.S.

Wesley's more recent experiences include working as a Media Analyst at Ad Fontes Media, where they reviewed media news articles for bias and validity. Wesley also worked as an Original Credit Teacher at Montana Digital Academy at The University of Montana.

Currently, Wesley is the Department Chair for Social Studies at Stevensville High School, a role they have held since 2016.

Wesley Wells' education history begins in 1985 when they attended Cuesta College for two years, earning an Associate of Arts degree in General Studies. Wesley then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, graduating in 1991. In 1998, Wesley obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership and Administration from Fresno Pacific University.

In 2017, Wesley briefly attended Montana State University Billings, focusing on Political Science and obtaining a Dual Credit Education Certification. Wesley continued their education in 2019 at the University of Montana, studying Public Education Law.

Alongside their academic pursuits, Wesley has obtained several certifications. These include a National E License from the U.S. Soccer Federation in 2016, a Montana Professional Teaching License from the State of Montana in 2015, and a First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross in 2014. Wesley also holds an Advanced Coach certification from AYSO.
