Celia Chartres-Aris (née Hensman) is a seasoned professional in the field of disability policy, research, and advocacy. Currently serving as Co-Founder and Head of Policy, Research, Strategy & Campaigns at Disabled by Society since January 2024, Celia has a strong background in government advisory roles, holding positions such as SPAD (Government Special Advisor) on Disability & Health for international and domestic governments since June 2022. Celia’s experience includes leading initiatives at the Cabinet Office as a Regional Stakeholder, acting as the Global Future Young Leader UK Ambassador for One Young World, and serving as UK Community Lead at Open Inclusion. In addition, Celia co-founded Access2Funding to advance equitable investment in disabled-led businesses and has played a pivotal role in various campaigns and advisory capacities since 2016, including founding the campaign "Where's My Minister." Celia holds a Bachelor of Laws from Royal Holloway, University of London, and has a proven track record in addressing ableism and promoting disability rights.
