Playwright and Director at Adam Wa Mishmish

Rita Akroush has a diverse work experience that spans from 2015 to the present. In 2015, they participated as a student and researcher in a three-week intensive course titled "Art, Migration, & Human Rights" at the Hemispheric Institute. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Screenplay Writer/Director at The Royal Film Commission - Jordan and as an IB MYP Drama Teacher at Mashrek International School. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Playwright and Director at Adam Wa Mishmish and Haya Cultural Center, and a Founder at Hudud حدود. In 2019, they also worked as a Program Officer and Program Assistant at Mosaik Education. In 2021, they took on the role of Project Assistant and Videographer at Oxfam, and in 2022 they became the Culture and Arts Projects Manager and Culture and Arts Projects Coordinator at Al Balad Theater.

Rita Akroush completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Theatre/Theater at New York University Abu Dhabi from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they attended Mashrek International School from 2002 to 2013. Currently, they are pursuing their Master of Arts - MA in Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London.
