Anthony Grootens

Anthony Grootens serves as the Sheriff of Adams County, Quincy, Illinois, overseeing a department with over 90 employees and managing court functions and a large jail within a jurisdiction spanning 950 square miles and serving 77,000 residents. Prior to this position, Anthony Grootens held the role of Chief of Police for the Jacksonville Police Department and worked in law enforcement sales at ACME Sports. A substantial career in federal law enforcement includes serving as a Supervisory Special Agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, overseeing critical operations and investigations related to drug trafficking, as well as experience as a Federal Law Enforcement Representative for Sig Sauer. Anthony Grootens began a law enforcement career as a Deputy Sheriff and has a B.S. in Law Enforcement Administration from Western Illinois University.
