Munene Kiruja has been working in software engineering since 1994. Munene started their career at Astrogamma Inc. as a Software Engineer, where they increased code reuse and developer productivity through adoption of object oriented development and porting the entire C code base to C++. Munene then moved on to Inventure Inc. as a Software Project Engineer, where they repaired strained client relationships by solving long standing bugs and system problems. From 2001 to 2013, they worked at GFI Group as a Senior Software Engineer, collaborating with product management, business analysts, sales, and end users to automate foreign exchange trading and implementing newly introduced financial products in the trading software. From 2013 to 2018, they worked at GE Digital as a Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer, delivering high availability and reliability experience for industrial customers managing thousands of field devices over the cloud, and clarifying the value proposition of the then new-paradigm industrial IOT edge platform to customers. From 2018 to 2021, Munene worked at Hitachi Vantara as a Software Engineering Master. Most recently, they have been working at ADAPDIX as a Senior Staff Software Engineer.

Munene Kiruja completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Applied Mathematics in Decision & Control from Harvard University between 1990 and 1994. Prior to that, they obtained an International Baccalaureate from United World College of South East Asia, Singapore between 1988 and 1990.
