Rana Grillberger has a diverse work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Most recently, they have served as the Director of Process and Analytical Development at Adaptimmune since June 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Director of Process Development at TCR² Therapeutics Inc. from June 2022. Previously, they worked as the Associate Director and CMC Lead for External Manufacturing at Rubius Therapeutics from August 2021 to April 2022. Rana also held the role of Principal Scientist at Servier Pharmaceuticals from January 2020 to September 2021, where they provided technical oversight for biologics drug substance. Rana gained experience in gene therapy and manufacturing sciences as the Lead Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific from October 2017 to January 2020. Rana began their career in exploratory R&D at Baxalta, where they worked as a Post Doc from 2006 to 2015. Rana also worked as a Process Validation Engineer at Baxter International Inc. from 2003 to 2006 and in the field of immuno-hematology pediatric service and bone marrow transplantation at Hospices Civils de Lyon from 1999 to 2000.
Rana Grillberger began their education in 2001, earning a Master of Science degree in Industrial Pharmacy from the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1- Faculty of pharmacy. Rana then went on to pursue further studies and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biotechnology with a focus on autoimmune disease, metalloenzymes, biochemical methods, and hematology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) from 2007 to 2014.
In 2014, Rana Grillberger expanded their knowledge by pursuing an MBA degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the WU Executive Academy, which they completed in 2016.
Looking towards the future, Rana Grillberger has plans to enroll in the MIT Professional Education in 2023, where they will undertake a Professional Certificate Program in Sustainability.
