Miika Klemetti has a diverse work experience spanning from 2005 to 2019. In 2005, they began their career as a BaBar Collaboration Research Associate at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, where they wrote algorithms in C++ to analyze large data sets for rare physics signatures. During this time, they also worked on detector hardware upgrades and liaised between physics analysts and software groups. In 2008, Miika moved to CERN to become a Researcher for the ATLAS Collaboration, where they received their doctorate on research involving the Higgs boson and contributed to 10+ journal publications. In 2012, Miika began working at John Abbott College as a Physics Professor, teaching an entry level course on Electricity and Magnetism and providing private tutoring. Also in 2012, Miika joined LiveQoS as a Systems Architect and Senior Software Engineer, where they oversaw the design and functionality of LiveQoS products, wrote and presented grant applications, and worked on a novel routing-as-a-service cloud framework.
