Jianlin Zhang has a long history of work experience in the medical field. Jianlin began their career in 1998 as a M.S. Candidate at the State Key Laboratory of Veterinary Biotechnology, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS, Har. In this role, they were responsible for isolating avian influenza virus, titering it by primary cell infection and ELISA, performing phylogenetic and genetic analysis of goose influenza virus, and developing and testing gene vaccines using Hemagglutinin (HA) and/or Neuraminidase (NA) gene of AIV at cellular and SPF chickens. In 2000, they became a PhD Candidate at the College of Life Science in Wuhan University, where they were responsible for characterizing the roles of Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), isolating and analyzing viral RNA from a SARS patient, and inhibiting Hepatitis B Virus Gene Expression by Single and Dual Small Interfering RNA (siRNA) Treatment.
In 2005, Jianlin Zhang became a Postdoctoral Scholar at the School of Medicine of the University of California, San Diego, where they investigated the role of ZO-1 & 2, MAVS and prion in the heart, generated new mouse lines by gene editing, and wrote manuscripts and NIH R01 applications. Jianlin then moved up to the role of Assistant Project Scientist, where they investigated the role of Nesprin protein, Desmin, Luma, and JUP in the heart and skeletal muscle, and generated new mouse lines by homologous recombination. In 2019, they became an Associate Project Scientist at the same institution, where they were responsible for creating injured mouse models by heart apex resection, LAD ligation, and Cryoinjure, iPS, AAV, and nanoparticle delivery, as well as sampling and analysis. Currently, Jianlin Zhang is a Senior Scientist at ADARx Pharmaceuticals Inc., where they began working in 2022.
Jianlin Zhang obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Microbiology, General from Wuhan University in 2005. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Molecular Virology and fundamental Veterinary from the State Key Laboratory of Veterinary Biotechnology, Harbin Veterinary Research Institute of CAAS in 2000. Jianlin began their educational journey in 1993, when they earned a Bachelor's degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Henan Agricultural University, College of animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
