Josue Davalos Carrera

Computer Vision Engineer at Adaviv

Josue Davalos Carrera has a diverse range of work experience in the field of computer science and data analysis. Josue began their career at Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral, where they served as a Programming Fundamentals Assistant, helping students understand complex concepts and reviewing their evaluations. Josue also played a role in organizing and operating the PyWeekend 5th edition event.

Josue later worked as a Summer Intern at CERN, where they designed and implemented a multilevel web gaming system for tagging datasets interactively. This system included a dashboard to track player assignments and scores.

At BioDynamicsTech, Josue worked as a Data Scientist and was involved in various projects. Josue performed time series analysis, implemented neural networks and clustering algorithms, and conducted statistical analysis of shrimp production variables. Josue also worked on multivariate time series analysis and benchmarking of regression models, as well as developing a library for machine/deep learning algorithms.

Josue's experience also includes a role as a Data Scientist at Prediqt - Data to AI, where they developed growth models for salmon and created a web interface for simulating salmon crops. Josue used technologies such as Kedro, Docker, and React for this project.

Josue's most recent position was at Credito Economicos, where they served as a Machine Learning Engineer. Josue provided consultancy on the use of the company's unbanked scoring model and was responsible for defining the model pipeline and improving its execution.

Currently, Josue is working as a Computer Vision Engineer at Adaviv, a position they started in 2022.

Josue Davalos Carrera completed their secondary education from 2010 to 2017 at Unidad Educativa Montepiedra, where they obtained a Bachillerato degree in Technician in electrical and automatic installations. In 2017, they enrolled at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral, where they are currently pursuing a degree in Engineering with a field of study in Computer Science.

In terms of additional certifications, Josue received the "Ganador Desafío de Innovación Abierta" from ESPOL in March 2023 and the "Mérito a la Investigación - Orientación a la Investigación Científica" from ESPOL in November 2022. In December 2020, they also obtained a verified edX certificate for completing the course "Machine Learning with Python-From Linear Models to Deep Learning" offered by MITx. Prior to this, in November 2016, they completed the "PRIVATEACHER Program" at Multibilingue.
