Ashok Luharuwalla has a strong background in banking and operations. Ashok started their career in 1987 at Standard Chartered Bank, where they held various roles such as Management Trainee, Branch Manager, and Head of NRI Services. In 1997, they became the Head of Operations in Bangladesh and later served as the Regional Head of Operations in Levant. Ashok then moved to Qatar as the Head of Consumer Banking before becoming the Regional Head of Consumer Banking Operations for Africa. In 2011, Luharuwalla joined Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank as the Head of Transformation & Control. Ashok later took on the role of Head of Group Operations and General Manager - ITMAM, overseeing the bank's operations.
Ashok Luharuwalla completed an Executive Leadership Program at INSEAD in 1998. Ashok obtained an MBA with a focus on Marketing and Finance from XLRI Jamshedpur between 1985 and 1987. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta from 1982 to 1985. Ashok completed their schooling at St. Patrick's School, Asansol, with a final year in 1979.
