Mauricio Jacome Herrera

Mauricio Jacome Herrera has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and risk modeling. Mauricio started their career as an ALM and Investor Relations Intern at BBVA Colombia in 2016. In 2019, they joined Banco Davivienda as a Credit Risk Modelling Professional, where they developed and implemented collections models and conducted stress tests on production models. At Banco Davivienda, they also developed models to assess the impact of the pandemic on credit losses and successfully reduced losses on the overall portfolio. In 2021, Mauricio joined ADDI as a Senior Data Scientist and later became the Head of Data Science. In this role, they built a data science team and developed data products related to credit, fraud, and marketing. Mauricio actively promoted a data-driven decision-making culture within the company. Overall, Mauricio has demonstrated strong technical skills and a successful track record in developing and implementing data-driven solutions.

Mauricio Jacome Herrera pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes, which they completed from 2012 to 2017. Following that, they obtained a Master's degree in Banking and Finance from Bangor University in 2018. In 2020, Mauricio enrolled in Udacity's Data Scientist Nanodegree Program, enhancing their knowledge in Computer Science. Additionally, they acquired several certifications, including Creating Interactive Presentations with Shiny and R, Data Science & Analytics Career Paths & Certifications: First Steps, Machine Learning for Business Intelligence, Learning Machine Learning, Python Essential Training, Tableau 10 Essential Training, and Learning VBA in Excel.
