Alfonso Chinnici

Alfonso Chinnici currently serves as a Senior Lecturer and Chair of Sustainable Energy & Energy Transition at Adelaide University since July 2025, after holding various roles including Senior Lecturer, Senior Research Fellow, and Project Manager at the University of Adelaide from 2014 to July 2025. In the latter position, Alfonso managed a $2 million ARENA-funded project focused on converting sunlight to solar fuels. Prior experience includes a Consulting Analyst role for the International Energy Agency from June 2021 to June 2022, and research positions at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II and Istituto di Ricerche sulla Combustione. Alfonso completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, where previous degrees also include a Master's Degree and Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering.
