Marloes Dankert

Marloes Dankert has a diverse work experience in the field of privacy and data protection. Marloes is currently the Head of Privacy Benelux and Lead Counsel at Adevinta, where they navigate the company's marketplaces through privacy and data protection regulations while considering user preferences and user experience. Previously, Dankert worked at Deloitte Legal as a Senior Manager, where they led a team focused on privacy and data protection. Marloes provided advice and assistance to various clients on privacy-related matters and implemented GDPR implementation projects. Before that, they worked at Certa Legal as a Lawyer, specializing in privacy and IP law, providing advice and solutions to clients on privacy compliance and intellectual property issues. Dankert also had experience working as an in-house legal counsel at Vodafone Netherlands and as a Junior Associate at DLA Piper, where they advised clients on IP, privacy, advertising, and gaming law. Marloes started their career as a legislative lawyer at the Ministry of Agriculture and gained internships at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and Houthoff Buruma. Dankert holds a position of expertise in the field of privacy and data protection, with a particular focus on helping companies comply with regulations and protect user data.

Marloes Dankert has a strong education background in law and IT. Marloes obtained their Master's degree in International and European Law from the University of Groningen in the period of 2001-2007. Later, in 2008-2009, they pursued a Master's degree in Information Law from the University of Amsterdam. In 2019, they attended Grotius Academie for a Postgraduate degree in Informaticarecht / IT Law. Marloes has also received additional certifications such as CIPP/E from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and a certification as a lawyer from the Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten.
