Julio Faura has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Julio is currently the CEO of Adhara, a company focused on delivering real-time solutions for global liquidity management and international payments based on tokenized money over a smart contract-enabled, decentralized ledger. Julio has also been involved in partnerships and seed funding by ConsenSys. Previously, Julio held multiple positions at Banco Santander, including Head of R&D and Head of Blockchain, where they focused on identifying and proposing new business models in collaboration with startups and external partners. Julio also served as the Head of Corporate Development, IT&Ops, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and startups globally. Julio has experience in IT and operations management, supervision of large teams, and leading M&A consolidation projects. Before their time at Banco Santander, Julio worked at McKinsey & Company as an Associate Principal and at SIDSA as the Head of Research & Development. Julio also had a role at a startup called GreenZebras, where they were responsible for quantitative marketing and website design. Julio began their career as a summer student at IBM.
Julio Faura pursued their education in a chronological order. Julio first attended the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from 1988 to 1993, where they obtained a degree in Telecommunication Engineering. Following that, they enrolled at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 1994 to 1999, completing their PhD in Computer Science / Electrical Engineering. Finally, in 1999 and 2000, they pursued a Master of Science (MsC) degree in Management of Technology at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
