Adeel Lakhani

Associate Scientist - Viral Vector Analytical Development at Adicet Bio

Adeel Lakhani has had a diverse work experience. In 2020, they began working as an Associate Scientist in Viral Vector Analytical Development at Adicet Bio, Inc. Prior to this, they held a Senior Research Associate position in the same field, where they designed experiments for the development and qualification of viral vector-related assays, served as a subject matter expert for tech transfer, and contributed to FDA regulatory submissions. In 2019, they worked as a Cell Production Associate at Eurofins DiscoverX and as a Research Associate at Genentech. Adeel also has experience in education, having worked as a Long Term Substitute Teacher in the Parlier Unified School District and as a Biology Teacher during the summer at Porterville High School. Adeel also worked as a Developer & Consultant while self-employed. Earlier in their career, Adeel was a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Department of Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology at the University of California Santa Barbara. Adeel worked on various research projects, including discovering a previously unknown function of a mitotic kinesin and uncovering unconventional functions of a histone methyltransferase subunit. Adeel also served in leadership roles as Chair of the Academic Affairs Board and Commissioner of Academic Affairs at the Associated Students of UC Santa Barbara.

Adeel Lakhani completed an Intensive Coding Bootcamp at 42 Silicon Valley in 2019. Prior to that, they pursued a Masters degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at UC Santa Barbara from 2015 to 2017. In their undergraduate years, from 2010 to 2014, they obtained both a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biopsychology and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Chemistry from UC Santa Barbara.
