Hernán de Santis

Hernán De Santis is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in materials strategy and innovation. At adidas from June 2020 to February 2024, Hernán served as Senior Director of Materials Strategy & Innovation, leading materials strategy across all Business Units for Footwear and Apparel while overseeing the briefing process to connect creative vision with supplier-ready content. Previously, as Senior Director of Footwear Materials, Hernán directed global teams and aligned materials with strategic goals, enhancing commercialization of innovations and integrating sustainable materials. Earlier roles included Director of Innovation Management, where Hernán incubated new technologies, and research positions at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata, focusing on electro-active polymers and composite materials. Hernán holds an Engineering degree in Materials Science from Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata and pursued further education at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg.
