Holly Rippon-Butler serves as the Board President of Essex Food Hub since June 2024, focusing on fostering a healthier food system in the Adirondack region. As a Board Member of Adirondack Land Trust since February 2020 and the Owner and Ice Cream Maker at Farmers Cone Creamery since January 2017, Rippon-Butler emphasizes local, high-quality ingredients. Experience includes working at Butler Family Farm, a third-generation dairy and beef operation, alongside previous roles such as Land Policy Director and Land Campaign Director for the National Young Farmers Coalition, where advocacy for equitable land access was central. Education includes a Master of Environmental Management from Yale School of the Environment and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University.

Adirondack Land Trust
Founded in 1984, the Adirondack Land Trust has conserved 26,628 acres, including: 20 working farms producing milk, apples, cattle and hay, 6,535 acres of working forests supplying local mills, 600 acres managed as preserves, and 19 properties transferred to New York State’s Forever Wild Forest Preserve. Our conservation criteria include linking people to the land, sustaining community economies and quality of life, enhancing the climate resilience of natural and human communities, and protecting native biodiversity. We work with partners to fulfill the promise of the Adirondack Park as a place of resilient lands, waters and communities.
