Brenda Burgess

Brenda Burgess has held a variety of roles in the medical and nutrition fields. In 2022, they began working as a Medical Editor for AdMed, Inc. and as an Editor in Biochemistry and Food Science for Accdon, LLC (Publishing services). In 2020, they were an Editor in Life Sciences and Medicine for Enago (Crimson Interactive) and a Science Writer and Editor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University at Buffalo. In 2019, they were a Medical Blogger for Family Practice Associates, P.C. and a Nutrition and Sensory Scientist for Elmhurst™ 1925. From 2017 to 2019, they were Co-Director of Operations for The Taste to Success, LLC. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Family Medicine at the University at Buffalo. From 2012 to 2016, they were a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant in the Sensory Evaluation & Nutrition Lab at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Additionally, from 2012 to 2016, they were a Rutgers Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (RASTL) Fellow at Rutgers Graduate School of Education.

Brenda Burgess obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nutritional Biochemistry & Physiology from Rutgers University between 2011 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology with a minor in French from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2006 and 2010.
