Muzamil Riffat

Muzamil Riffat has extensive experience in the field of IT auditing. Muzamil worked as the Head of the IT Audit Section at ADNOC Group from December 2017 onwards. Prior to that, they were a Senior Audit Manager at Abu Dhabi Education Council from October 2009 to December 2017. In this role, they were responsible for conducting detailed and risk-based evaluations of controls, managing IT and process audits, and investigating risk management and compliance issues. Before joining the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Muzamil worked as an Audit Supervisor at Dubai World from December 2007 to October 2009. Here, they supervised the IT security and compliance audits and evaluated the effectiveness of internal controls. Muzamil also served as an Instructor at Ryerson University from January 2007 to December 2007, delivering lectures on information system security. Muzamil started their career as a Senior Consultant at KPMG in Toronto from February 2006 to December 2007, where they analyzed clients' network architectures, performed security reviews, and acted as a controls specialist for SAP R/3. Muzamil also worked as a Technical and Security Lead at TSR Technologies from May 2002 to February 2006, where they managed a technical team, designed and implemented software solutions, and administered database security.

Muzamil Riffat holds a Master's Degree in Information Security Management from the SANS Technology Institute, which was obtained from 2014 to 2017. Muzamil also has a B.Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from McGill University, which they completed from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their degrees, Muzamil has obtained several certifications in various fields, including Certified Incident Handler, Certified Information Security Leadership, Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information System Auditor, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Systems Network Auditor, Certified Web Application Pen Tester, Certified in Law of Data Security, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional, Professional Engineer, and Project Management Professional.
