John Perry has a diverse work experience in the field of molecular endocrinology and human genetics. Their most recent position is a Professor of Molecular Endocrinology at the University of Cambridge, where they also serve as a principal investigator in the Metabolic Research Laboratory. John has been with the University of Cambridge since 2013, initially as a Senior Investigator Scientist and then as an MRC Programme Leader.
In addition to their work at the University of Cambridge, John Perry is currently the Vice President of Human Genetics at Adrestia Therapeutics, beginning in 2022. John also holds the position of Associate Group Leader at the Gurdon Institute at the University of Cambridge since 2019. Prior to that, they were a Fellow and Director of Studies (Medicine) at King's College, Cambridge starting in 2018.
John Perry's earlier work experience includes being a Sir Henry Wellcome Fellow at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford from 2010 to 2013. Overall, John Perry has a strong background in molecular endocrinology, human genetics, and academic leadership.
John Perry obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human/Medical Genetics from the University of Exeter, where they studied from 2007 to 2010.
