Jim Westhoff

Jim Westhoff is an experienced bassoonist and educator currently serving as the Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra since March 2024, and as Personnel Manager and Second Bassoon for the Jackson Symphony Orchestra since September 2012. Westhoff also holds positions as Second Bassoon with the Lexington Bach Festival and Principal Bassoon as well as Personnel Manager for the Adrian Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Westhoff teaches applied bassoon lessons as Adjunct Faculty at Concordia University Ann Arbor. With a career spanning from April 1985 to the present, Westhoff has performed with various orchestras and has contributed as Bassoon Associate Faculty and Assistant Program Director at Birch Creek Music Performance Center. Westhoff's education includes multiple degrees in Music Performance and Music Theory/Composition from prestigious institutions such as Peabody Conservatory and Wichita State University.
